Over 100 Trump Rally Attendees in Arizona Treated for Heat-Related Illnesses

Over 100 individuals were treated for heat-related illnesses while waiting for former President Donald Trump’s rally in Glendale, Arizona, according to The Arizona Republic.

Glendale Fire Department Assistant Chief Tim Pirtle noted that the large number of patients overwhelmed local firefighters, delaying their ability to provide treatment and transport people to the hospital, as reported by the newspaper.

Brent Stoddard, Glendale's deputy city manager, informed CNN via email that at least 20 of those treated required transport for further medical care.

“Our public safety officials and first responders did an outstanding job, assisting over 100 people experiencing heat-related and other medical issues,” Stoddard said. “While the final count is still pending, at least 20 of these cases necessitated additional medical transport.”

CNN has reached out to the Glendale Fire Department and the mayor’s office for more details.

As of now, the temperature in Glendale is 106 degrees, according to the CNN Weather Team.

This incident follows a similar one in June, where 11 people were transported to hospitals for heat exhaustion during a Trump event in Phoenix.
